OLIAS

Post by Liam »

Glad to join the Grampian owners club. I acquired my Discovery 7.9 several years ago. This is her 3rd life, at least. The prior owner found her as a salvage boat and did alot of work to make her seaworthy. Now it's my turn. I've made alot of interior improvements, rewired her, teaked the cockpit deck, and changed the impeller on the OMC saildrive (no east task!), and just upgraded the winches. Originally named "Windy Lady", later changed to "Lively Lady", I have renamed her OLIAS after the cosmic shipbuilder, Olias of Sunhillow (Jon Anderson). Home port is Suttons Bay, Michigan.

That is a seriously beautiful boat!

I'm curious, was the AC all set up like that originally, or did you have it installed (Or install it yourself?) I ask because the AC breaker switch panel is the same model as what is currently in my D7.9 and in the exact same spot.

Installed 30A breaker myself. It supports the battery charger and two general purpose receptacles. Also installed a galvanic isolator, the purpose of which is to block DC currents coming on board and flowing back through shore power ground wire.
